Job Summary:
The Director of Administrative Technology provides
vision and leadership for a comprehensive administrative computing environment
for all corporate locations. Generally, the Director of
Administrative Technology is responsible for the database administration functions as well as system
programming, troubleshooting, and system management within the corporate
administrative information systems. System management includes
configuration, security, resource monitoring and reporting,
troubleshooting, and the development of specialized programs.
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinates
and establishes priorities of the
Administrative Technology office for the design, installation and
maintenance of all administrative computing.
2. Manages the database administration and standard
setting functions for the corporation. Uses data dictionary, DBMS and OS to
ensure data integrity and security, recover corrupted data and eliminate
data redundancy and tuning tools to improve database performance.
3. Collaborates with other senior management in the
Information Services Division to build an information technology
infrastructure that supports existing applications while remaining
responsive to change.
4. Provides advice, recommendations, direction, and resolution,
and collaborates with individuals and departments from all sectors of the
corporation on a wide range of technology and information management
issues.
5. Oversees, installs, and evaluates database
management systems software, compilers and utilities.
6. Installs new users, creates batch administration
scripts and runs systems backups.
7. Oversees the activities of the Administrative
Technology office, including scheduling and prioritizing administrative
activities; supervising and evaluating Administrative Technology staff.
8. Establishes and implements short-and long-range
office goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and
evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
9. Coordinates with suppliers and other groups in
designing, planning, installing, reconfiguring and upgrading corporate
administrative technology hardware and software.
10. Provides periodic and ad hoc reports on
administrative systems, as well as forecasts of future utilization and
hardware/software requirements.
11. Identifies needs for new policies and/or areas
where existing policies and procedures potentially require change.
12. Manages Disaster Recovery Contingency Plan.
13. Administers
the office budget.
